THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY

KATY PERRY

Summer after high school when we first met
We'd make out in your Mustang to Radiohead
And on my 18th Birthday
We got matching tattoos

Used to steal your parents' liquor
And climb to the roof
Talk about our future
Like we had a clue
Never planned that one day
I'd be losing you

In another life
I would be your girl
We'd keep all our promises
Be us against the world

In another life
I would make you stay
So I don't have to say
You were the one that got away
The one that got away

I was June and you were my Johnny Cash
Never one without the other, we made a pact
Sometimes when I miss you
I put those records on (Whoa)

Someone said you had your tattoo removed
Saw you downtown singing the Blues
It's time to face the music
I'm no longer your muse

But in another life
I would be your girl
We'd keep all our promises
Be us against the world

In another life
I would make you stay
So I don't have to say
You were the one that got away
The one that got away
The o-o-o-o-o-one [x3]
The one that got away

All this money can't buy me a time machine (Nooooo)
Can't replace you with a million rings (Nooooo)
I should've told you what you meant to me (Whoa)
'Cause now I pay the price

In another life
I would be your girl
We'd keep all our promises
Be us against the world

In another life
I would make you stay
So I don't have to say
You were the one that got away
The one that got away
The o-o-o-o-o-one [x3]

In another life
I would make you stay
So I don't have to say
You were the one that got away
The one that got away

FREEDOM

Freedom, as what the book had said, it is the ability of a person to be his/herself. It is the ability to be oneself and to think, decide, act or move without being asked nor manipulated by someone or by others.

We all know that all of us or each one of us has this power. It depends to us how we use it either good or bad. But we are just abusing this power, this gift that God has given us. We do all things we want to do. But none of us had realized that freedom has its own limitations, limitations in a way that is good or maybe best for us. Yes, we are free but we must remember that freedom isn't absolute. It is not absolute because, again, we are abusing it and it has its own limitations.

And as what as the book or other reference said, that freedom is the ability of a person to be free or to decide on its own without manipulated by others, we must be free, free to be ourselves and express what and who we really are. The liberty is in our hands, it is our lives, it is our privilege and will always be so we must take good care of this gift. We must be true to ourselves and do what we think is right and best for us 'cause according to Jim Morrison, 'The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask.' We all have the power to choose, to think freely, and to be ourselves and we must always remember that 'we live to express and not to impress,' because as what as John F. Kennedy had said, 'The best road to progress is freedom's road.'

'Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right. For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men. Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bond slaves of God. Honor all men; love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.' 1 Peter 2:13-17
